Tour description
When you visit Kyoto, be sure to take photos in the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Enjoy the stunning scenery while learning why this area is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Our first stop is Tenryu-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you’ll experience the beauty of traditional Japanese gardens and the spirit of Zen, carefully preserved for more than 700 years. After passing through the temple’s serene grounds, we arrive at one of Kyoto’s most enchanting sights—the Bamboo Grove. As you walk through this mystical landscape, your guide will explain why this breathtaking forest is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage designation. You’ll truly feel the harmony between nature and culture come to life.
The tour also includes a stroll past the guide’s recommended kawaii (cute) character shops and local souvenir stores, where you can stop in to pick up Kyoto’s famous matcha sweets, savor delicate wagashi (Japanese confections), or browse beautifully crafted bamboo-themed artisan goods—perfect for rounding out your Arashiyama experience.
We then continue across the famous bridge toward the Monkey Park, where you are welcome to enter and enjoy nature at your own pace. Please note that your guide will purchase the entrance ticket for you, but will not accompany you inside. The Monkey Park will be the dismissal point for this tour.
Please also note that the entrance ticket to both Tenryu-ji Temple and Monkey park is included.
