ITINERARY
Meet-Up Location: In front of JR Ueno Station (Central Exit)
1.We’ll begin our journey at Kiyomizu Kannon-do Temple, a historic hillside temple inspired by Kyoto’s Kiyomizu-dera. From its wooden terrace, you can enjoy charming views over Ueno Park and the surrounding greenery.
2.Next, we’ll walk to Hanazono Inari Shrine, known for its pathway of bright red torii gates. This peaceful spot offers a Kyoto-like atmosphere and is a hidden gem that many visitors overlook.
3.Following that, we’ll visit Toshogu Shrine, famous for its golden decorations, detailed carvings, and long approach lined with stone and bronze lanterns from the Edo period.
4.Finally, we’ll make our way to Ameyoko Shopping Street, a lively open-air market packed with authentic Japanese street foods, local snacks, spices, cosmetics, clothing, and unique Japanese souvenirs at some of the best prices in Tokyo, the perfect energetic ending to the tour.
Throughout the journey, we’ll also share our top recommendations for the best food stalls and souvenir shops in Ameyoko Market so you can enjoy a good lunch right after the tour.
