Tom's Tree Tour of London
Description
Paul Simon sang "I'd rather be a forest than a street".
He must have never been to London as here lies proof you can be both!
With around 20% tree canopy cover, and almost 50% green and blue space, London is a sprawling urban forest and the world's first National Park City. On this scenic tree trail past London's most iconic sights, we will divert our attention towards these green skyscrapers to uncover stories of how nature, wildlife and the modern human world are interwoven in one of the world's most biodiverse cities.
This tour provides the quietest and most picturesque route from Hyde Park, through Wellington Arch, past Buckingham Palace to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament on the bank of the Thames, almost entirely through green spaces and under tree canopy. Enjoy the benefits of soaking up the sights, sounds and smells of nature while in the heart of the city!
The walk is almost 2km, and the duration will depend on the group size and the number of questions from walkers, but will be no longer than 2 hours.
