I'm a family-oriented person with a good sense of humor who loves to travel. Years ago, I was a guide inside Tarragona Cathedral, and although I now work in a different field, I enjoy leading free walking tours through the historic center some afternoons. I want to share stories from different eras, cultures, and art that local historians and architects have taught me, and now, with the preparation I've done, I have a tour ready to start next April. I want it to be educational, interactive, and humorous.

Tour description

We begin the tour at the Balcony of the Mediterranean. A picture-postcard view, from where we will sail to the beginning of Tarraco's history.

We will continue to have the Amphitheater, where we will learn about the distractions of the Roman people and their gladiatorial combats.

Our next stop will be the Roman Circus. We'll experience a thrilling and unique spectacle from that era. We'll also visit the Praetorian Tower and learn about its various uses over 2,000 years.

We will continue to see a part of the Roman and medieval wall, of which there will be many things to tell within its stones.

We will go into the old town until we reach the modernist building that now houses the offices and rectorate of the Rovira i Virgili University; we will learn about its architecture and its original use.

We continued our short trip to observe two buildings: the old Seminary and the Archbishop's Palace.

Next, we approached the facade of the cathedral, with its Romanesque and Gothic art, to explain the details of its facade, but also stories and fables from its interior.

Our short journey comes to an end in the Forum square, a social place for gatherings and ancient conspiracies.

I'd like us all to learn together on this tour, making it educational, fun, and interactive, with surprises and touches of humor. See you in Historic Tarragona! Until next time!
