Tarragona Historic "More than 2,000 years of stories"

The tour lasts 2 hours
Available in Spanish

Description

The tour will begin at the Balcó del Mediterrani. An important local figure from the time, a senator from the 1st-century Tarraco, has appeared in our century thanks to a time machine and wants to guide us through the city to tell its history, summarizing it from the arrival of the Roman Empire to the present day.

The route will continue to the Amphitheater, where we will learn about the Roman people's entertainments and their gladiator fights.

The next stop will be the Roman Circus. We will experience an exciting and unique show from that era.

We will go to see the Tower of the Pretorium and its different uses over 2,000 years.

The route will proceed to see a part of the Roman and medieval wall, within whose stones there will be many stories to tell, and an interactive surprise organized by the character.

We will move into the old town until we reach the building from the modernist era, now the offices and rectorate of the Rovira i Virgili University; we will learn about its architecture and its surprising original use. You will guess it.

Next, we will approach the front of the cathedral, with Romanesque and Gothic art, to explain the details of its facade, but also stories and fables from its interior.

Our little journey comes to an end at the Forum Square, a social place for discussions and ancient conspiracies, where you will bid farewell to the character and take photographs.

I would like us all to learn together on this tour, for it to be educational, joyful, and interactive, with surprises and notes of humor. See you in Historic Tarragona. See you soon!”

Guiding since 2026
I'm a family-oriented person with a good sense of humor who loves to travel. Years ago, I was a guide inside Tarragona Cathedral, and although I now work in a different field, I enjoy leading free walking tours through the historic center some afternoons. I share stories from different eras, cultures, and art that local historians and architects have taught me, and which I've prepared along with my own experience. Both I and the visitors enjoy these tours. It's an educational, interactive, and humorous tour.
