Museum of Memory and Human Rights Explained

Reserve! My Free Tour; because with explanations, you will be able to understand the context of the breakdown of Democracy in Chile, as well as the stages and emblematic places showcased by the Museum. In the museum's exterior esplanade, we will explain the Architectural sense and the declaration of universal Human Rights, inviting reflection. In the access Hall, we will explain The Global Mural of countries that suffered civil wars or dictatorships, Truth and Reconciliation commissions, and we will go to the September 11 room to explain the exact moment of the breakdown of Democracy in Chile with the Coup d'état. We will explain objects and audiovisual testimonies, written press of the time, and art created by detainees, and we will meet Soporopo. Observe the world map of Diaspora, where many Chileans left Chile for the world and host countries. In the Memorial of the Victims, there are detained-disappeared and politically executed individuals, including Salvador Allende and Victor Jara, along with students and workers. I will explain how resistance to the dictatorship was made, how the press was manipulated or censored, and how other media risked everything to show the harsh reality, which was the Vicariate of Solidarity.

Finally, I will explain the end of the Dictatorship and the return to Democracy.

IMPORTANT: We greatly appreciate it if you give us a nice review and tip, to continue spreading the cultural and historical contribution of our Museum of Memory and Human Rights. SEE YOU 🇨🇱🤗

Hi! While studying Law and reading a lot of World and Chilean history, I fell in love with the legacy and heritage of our beloved Chile and my adored Santiago 🤍❤️💙. In my childhood, I traveled to Iquique, Antofagasta, the Atacama Desert, Lake Peñuelas, Coquimbo, Los Vilos, Viña del Mar, Valparaíso, and further south: Longaví, Chillán Viejo, Salto del Laja, Talcahuano, Temuco, Valdivia, Puerto Montt, Frutillar, and Chiloé Island. Come, book my tour! I'll tell you what I've learned about Colonial and Modern Santiago, plus there will be fun facts at each point of interest to spice up the tour. See you there! Long live Chile! 💙❤️🤍
