High Park History and Habitat Tour

The tour lasts 3 hours
Available in English

Description

I’m a born-and-raised Canadian with a passion for local history and nature. As a High Park local, I’m delighted to share the landscapes, wildlife, and landmarks that make this park such a distinctive part of Toronto.

We’ll walk near Grenadier Pond, look for local birds and wildlife, and explore wooded trails, gardens, and open green spaces.

We’ll also visit the Maple Leaf Garden and historic Colborne Lodge, where we’ll learn about John and Jemima Howard. I’ll share how their home, their lives, and their gift of land helped shape High Park, with stops at memorials and architectural details connected to their story.

Some paths may be dusty, uneven, or muddy, so comfortable casual footwear is recommended.

All ages are welcome.

Guiding since 2026
Hi, I’m Lena! I’m a born-and-raised Torontonian, part-time educator, and High Park local. High Park is my favourite place in Toronto, and I’m passionate about its history and nature. I became a guide because I’m a friendly and curious person, and I like to share fun facts. My goal is to help people discover the beauty around them, and leave them with a new affection for the place they’ve just explored. ✨❤️
