Aarhus Through Time: Vikings and the Middle Ages
The tour lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes
Available in Spanish
Description
Did you know that Aarhus was an important Viking city long before becoming the modern university city we know today?
On this tour we will travel through more than 1,000 years of history, from the first Viking settlements to the transformation of Aarhus into one of Denmark's most innovative cities.
We'll discover what the Viking village was like, learn about a battle that took place in this city, and follow in the footsteps of some of the most famous Viking kings who passed through Aarhus. We'll also explore the heart of the medieval city, where streets, churches, and hidden corners still bear the marks of centuries of history.
Along the way we will explore the evolution of Aarhus, from its Viking and medieval past to the modern waterfront that defines much of the city today.
This tour combines history, curiosities, characters and anecdotes so you can discover Aarhus in an entertaining, friendly and different way.
ON THIS TOUR WE WILL SEE:
- Immervad Street and the Aros River
- Latin Quarter
- Store Torv (cathedral, theater, Royal Hotel and old town hall)
