Tour of Reykjavík: its History, Culture, and Legends

  • 2 hours
  • Spanish

Description

Small, colorful, and illuminated by the northern lights, Reykjavík shines as the northernmost capital in the world. In this tour, we will explore the capital while reconstructing, step by step and in chronological order, the history of Iceland. We will start at the top of Arnarhóll hill and walk through the heart of Reykjavík, passing by some of its most iconic places: the Parliament, the City Hall, and the Harpa, where we will end with views of the bay and Mount Esja.

How did the first settlers arrive on such a remote island? What was it like to live in a land of volcanoes, extreme winters, and scarce resources? How was the oldest parliament in humanity born? How did Iceland become one of the most prosperous countries in the world? Through the streets of Reykjavík, we will connect each chapter of this history until we reach the present day.
Along the way, we will also discover Nordic folklore and mythology, the city's art and sculptures, Icelandic music, its gastronomy, and some of the corners that explain how life is today in this picturesque city. A tour for those who not only want to see Reykjavík but also understand Iceland. All in a friendly atmosphere, with humor and, of course, with the opportunity to learn how to pronounce Eyjafjallajökull. ;)
