Halloween in Tarragona: Deaths, Ghosts & Other Inconveniences

  • 2 hours
  • English

Description

This Halloween week, join us for a nighttime walk through the old streets of Tarragona, where history and legend get tangled up, miracles raise a few questions, and the supernatural seems to have a VIP seat in everyday life. For instance:

  • A devil trapped in a cathedral
  • A witch who became a local legend
  • Ghosts with unfinished business
  • And a city that celebrates a dead woman's arm

Yeah. Tarragona is no ordinary city. Some say there's something different about its energy... but 2,000 years of stories will do that to a place (especially when they so often end in death). Or perhaps... begin with it.

We'll meet ghosts who haven't quite moved on, discover stories stranger than fiction, and explore the curious ways this city has learned to live with death (and occasionally even throw a celebration in its honour...)

No cheap jump scares. No haunted-house theatrics (though we will come across a few...). What we do promise: bizarre local legends, dark humour, and the occasional reminder that, sooner or later, death comes for us all.

But in the meantime, why not see what she's been up to around here?

Come for the ghosts. Stay for the inconveniences

Tarragona Walking Tours is an independent cultural project for curious travellers who want to experience the city beyond the obvious. Through stories, architecture, traditions and hidden details, we connect Tarragona’s past with the city people live in today. No endless lists of dates, no theatrical history lessons: just enough context to help you notice more, understand more and leave wanting to explore further. Think of it less as a traditional guided visit and more as having a good friend show you the Tarragona they love: sharing the stories, details and corners that many visitors, and sometimes even locals, tend to miss. Tours are led by Felipe, a Brazilian who fell in love with Tarragona and now shares the city with the same curiosity and affection that first made him want to stay.
