What an amazing tour! We were able to try a bunch of interesting and tasty Hungarian foods. István, as well as being extremely knowledgeable about Hungarian food and Budapest in general, was really friendly and funny, and was overall a brilliant guide. He created a really friendly atmosphere for the group, so I ended up making a bunch of new friends as well! Honestly my favourite tour I’ve found from Guruwalk, if you’re in Budapest you’ve gotta try this!

My wife and I both enjoyed our food tour with Itsvan (sp?). He brought us through the Central Market and to various other spots to test typical Hungarian foods. He told us a bit of the history of the foods and some personal stories. Be prepared to eat meat including pork products.

the trip itself was really successful we were already in the past in a few trips This trip was the best of the following: - dishes that we don't know - an intimate group with conversation between group members - a guide at eye level who was fun to talk to about other things as well in short - very successful Please note that this is not kosher or Halal food and is not suitable for vegetarians.

Istvan is a great guide. We tried some local snacks and dishes and he told us all about the origins and history of the dishes and about Hungarian cuisine in general. After the tour he sent us a big list of recommendations which was very appreciated. I can recommend this tour highly!

My boyfriend and I decided to take this tour because we wanted to better understand a local's perspective of the food culture in Hungary. We learned so much from Istvan, not just about the food we ate on the tour, but other dishes that are meaningful for Hungarians ( beyond paprikash and goulash etcetc ) as well. Istvan is a super knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and entertaining guide, and I look forward to taking another of his tours when I come back to Budapest someday!

This tour was honestly so good; I would 100% recommend it. This was my second time in Budapest and I honestly wasn’t expecting to find something like this, but I’m so glad I did since it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. Istvan was such a great guide and it didn’t feel like a typical tour at all, more like being shown around by a friend. Getting to try all sorts of Hungarian food with him there made a huge difference. He had us try some food I never would’ve found on my own, and everything was absolutely DELICIOUS, and felt really authentic.
