If you are interested in learning the history of Buddhism in Thailand, DO THIS TOUR! Charin was the first guide to actually explain Buddhism and answer my questions. I’m very appreciative of all the history of Buddhism and the Lanna culture. The personal touch Charin gave of sharing how local Thai study Buddhism and his own journey added greatly to my understanding.

Reading the comments before I had more or less an understanding of what the tour is going to be like. As I am interested in Buddhism I was excited to have an ex monk lead the tour. We visited a few temples and got an overview of what monk's life looks like, watched the chanted meditation, got explanations about the details on the temples and on the inside too. However, I found often the speech hard to follow and understand, it was a bit monotonous. My previous experience has been with guides who are more enthusiastic and lively, with interesting stories and examples. This was more of an overview.

Very insightful tour, especially to learn more about the buddhism in general. Can only recommend :)

We enjoyed our afternoon tour with Charin. He is a very knowledgeable guide, born in Chiang Mai with experience of being a monk. The tour has four main stops and really helps you to understand the layout of the old town, the history of the city and the lives and beliefs of the monks

The tour gave us a lot of information and background about Buddhism, Thai culture and Chiang Mai. Charin is very good in explaining and adjusting the message to the audience. There is space for your own time at the different temples, which gives a nice variety and less intensity (of information). I really enjoyed the tour, Charin's teaching and route we followed.

El inglés del gurú no era muy bueno lo que hizo que se torne difícil la compresión y a veces un poco monótono. No se recorrieron los principales templos.

Charin is very knowledgeable and for me also the history of the city and region was very interesting and informative also many aspects of Buddhism, His English was very good and he was open for all questions, for me a very good tour.

Charin was informative and charming. He is knowledgeable and serious about his business. The temples visited were very quiet and allowed him the time and space to teach us in the ways of Buddhism. I enjoyed the walk very much.

Charin has a lot of know-how about Art, budism, history,… the style was rather traditional and less entertaining.

The tour took a bit less than 4 hours. A must-do if you are willing to listen, ask questions and learn without a rush. Would definitely recommend him.

Nice tour through four different temples in Chiang Mai. Charin knows and shares a lot about Buddhism. There were many breaks to explore the temple ‘alone’. Also, many opportunities to sit down while he explained - so the four hours were not as intense.
