We had a truly rewarding tour of Durrës with Artan Kaçani. He generously shared his extensive knowledge of history, and his academic background in urban planning brought the development of the city to life. We were very pleased with the tour. For me personally, the tour was also a wonderful introduction to Albania’s early history, which I knew very little about beforehand. Looking back, I think it would have been helpful to have a simple timeline showing the main historical periods and key turning points before the tour. I ended up looking for one afterwards, and found that it helped me put all the stories and places we had seen into a broader historical context. One small tip if you’re planning to explore the streets of Durrës with Artan Kaçani: take a little time beforehand to familiarize yourself with the main periods of Albanian history. It will make the stories and places you encounter along the way even more meaningful.

We loved Artan’s tour. He is extremely knowledgeable and his passion for Albania is infectious. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Joana gave my father and me a wonderful and memorable tour of Durrës. She brought the history of the city to life in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. During the tour, we visited several fascinating historical sites, including the Byzantine Forum, the Roman Amphitheatre, and the Ottoman Hammam. Joana explained the different periods of Durrës’ long history with such knowledge and enthusiasm that it felt as if the history of the city was in her blood. What we especially appreciated was that the tour never felt rushed. We had plenty of time to ask questions, take breaks, sit down when needed, and really enjoy each place. Joana was very friendly, approachable, patient, and genuinely interested in making the experience enjoyable for us. She did more than simply show us historical sites — she inspired us to learn more about the fascinating history of Durrës after the tour. It was a very positive experience for both my father and me, and I would highly recommend Joana to anyone who wants to discover Durrës and understand the rich history behind this beautiful city.

Joana is very knowledgeable and was able to communicate clearly in excellent English but had a portfolio of photos and visual aids to supplement her talk. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone interested in the history of Durres.

Joana is an amazing person and a very knowledgeable guide. She gives you information on everything you need to know about Durres and after the tour you have a complete overview of the city, its main monuments, main historical events etc. A fully recommended tour to take when visiting Durres, but with Joana only!!

Fue un excelente tour, muy completo, Joanna utilizó muy buen material de apoyo para explicar la historia de Durres. El calor era intenso ese día pero se preocupó de poder dar todas las explicaciones en lugares con sombra. Su manera de explicar era clara y completa y la ruta nos permitió ver muchos hitos históricos de Durres.

Un tour molto consigliato per iniziare al meglio il soggiorno a Durazzo! Joana è preparatissima, simpatica e parla un ottimo italiano. Ci ha fatto scoprire la storia millenaria della città in modo coinvolgente partendo dalla Piazza Veliero.. La passeggiata è stata piacevole e varia. Bellissimi l'Anfiteatro romano e la Torre veneziana. Ottime le dritte di Joana su dove parcheggiare e su ristoranti!

Ich war mit einer Freundin dabei. Wir haben beide unterschiedliche Meinungen zu dieser Tour. Ich fand es sehr sachlich aber auch einwenig trocken. Es fühlte sich so ähnlich an wie eine Präsentation in der Schule. Meine Freundin fand die Tour richtig gut und mag es das es so sachlich war. Sie konnte Fragen stellen, welche sauch beantwortet wurden. Insgesamt war die Tour sehr ausführlich. Joana achtete darauf, dass wir überwiegend im Schatten sind. Bot uns trotzdem an sich auch woanders hinzustellen um zu erzählen, welches wir dankend ablehnten.
