Was wary of a free tour being shunted into shops but not the case..one stop for free tea and honey/ oil/ herbs sampling..no pressure to buy..but I did buy €6 bag of Royal tea that's wonderful.
Only 4 of us..lasted over 3 hours not 2 so covered lots at a good pace..make sure you bring warm top for medina even on hot day.

As first time visitors to Essaouira, it was an easy going, enjoyable couple of hours giving us a real feel for the people and the place.

Ilya provides an intersting off the beaten track tour of Essaouira. Make sure you take the tour on the first days or hours of Essaouira so you can come back and enjoy the places Ilya shows during the route.

We enjoyed meeting Ilya, learning a little about his story, finding the secret places he has discovered here and about people’s lives. Also the tips he offers from his own experience about how to handle a wide range of issues: prices, taxis, haggling, beggars.. are invaluable.
