I really enjoyed this tour because it was a mix of some historical facts and non typical interests. Ilya provides an expat's view and therefore shares some really interesting businesses and places to visit. I've been on a lot of these tours in other countries and while many are guided by trained historians, those people share the same kinds of things you can read on Wikipedia. Ilya's tour felt more underground and original to me. History is interesting but modern culture is more useful.

Ilya es un muy simpático guía que hace el paseo por essaouira muy entretenido e interesante. Es simpático verlo caminar y saludar a todos los locales a pesar de solo llevar 3 años en la ciudad. Muy agradable paseo

This is a great walk to do on your first day to get your bearings. It was the perfect start to my trip with Ilya providing tips and recommendations you wouldn't normally get from your hotel or hostel. He's a friendly easy going guide and shows what life for a young local looks like.

If you want to see the real Essaouira and learn local knowledge, get great tips for where to go, what to see, eat and drink, this is the tour to do at the beginning of your stay. I loved every aspect of it, I'd been self exploring for a month, and had managed to walk past all the hidden gems! Ilya balanced the right amount of places making sure it was always interesting and relevant to the guests. One of the best street walking tours I've been on. Thank you Ilya.

I just wished I took this tour on my first day in Essaouira. It opened my eyes to things I did not see.

It was a lovely walk and I saw and visited places I would never have otherwise seen! Ilya was great to talk to and full of interesting facts.

Very nice tour!!! Really liked it. Also went to drink tea at local shop and eat local bread incl herbs. We bought argan oil and herbs.

You can tell that Ilya loves the place. Very friendly host, showed us some hidden gems, and gave us good tips to enjoy the city as well as the people. Book the tour at the beginning of your stay ! Which… we didn’t. But we’ll come back anyways !

Enjoyed this tour, especially the taste of berber snacks in the cooperative.

This tour was nice but with very few historical and cultural facts wich IS mostly thé reason why you would Take a tour. Mostly a collection of recommandations of places to visit that you usually have AT thé end of a Real tour. If you only need some recommandations of places to sée, this IS for you. Also expecting a specific amount of money AT thé end of a "freetour" was unfair. Nevertheless lots of good recommandations spécialy for Gnawa music.
