Ich bin in Kairos „Müllstadt“ geboren und aufgewachsen und arbeite als professioneller Fotograf. Im Kloster des Heiligen Simon des Gerbers (auch bekannt als Höhlenkirche) bin ich als Fotograf und Bildbearbeiter (Video und Fotos) für Besucher des Mario-Hochseilgartens tätig. Außerdem organisiere ich Touren durch die Müllstadt in der Nähe des Klosters und biete dabei einzigartige Erlebnisse wie den Besuch eines Taubenturms, eines Recyclingzentrums und einer Plastikfabrik. Dabei erzähle ich auch die besonderen Geschichten der Bewohner – die meisten von ihnen sind wie ich Christen aus Oberägypten.

The visit to Saint Tanner Monastery was definitely worth it. Unfortunately, the tour guide didn't show up, message him and waited for about 15 mins before walking through Garbage City to visit the monastery on my own. Missed out on the history part of the visit.
This is the kind of tour everyone should take once in a lifetime. It's incredible to see how things goes outside of touristic areas, and especially here. The conditions and how this city works was so impressive, it really makes you think and change the perspective of everything
Loved the tour! One man's rubbish is another man's treasure and that's exactly what you see. The people from Garbage City is very friendly and, despite what you would think, the smell is not unbearable at all. It's a great experience, from the walk around to the endless "Hello!" and the beautiful pigeons.
First we went to the church and got to see the beauty of all the carvings and the auditorium. Then on to the Garbage cite to see all the rubish piled hig. It really stood out after the Church. Iwas amazed at how the rubbish is sorted by hand. Our guide new all the locals and they were very happy to talk to us
