April - Stadtführer in Peking

April is a kind and knowledgeable guide, with a mature approach to the walking tour. She was able and willing to answer our questions as we walked the route, many of which focused on the modern-day life to people in Beijing. We visited the ghost market, viewed a pocket garden, a mosque and a Buddhist temple. These were interesting, but the 'Revolutionary Past' I had expected (since WW2, say) was not really covered as such, although we did talk about the early 1900s.

Antwort von April:
Thank you for your review. China has many revolutionary pasts, but like I mention in the tour description, this tour is mainly about what it is called "the most turbulent time of the country" and "the very first democratic reform in China's history"—both referring to the late 19th century, when a system that had been around for thousands of years was overthrown through revolutions and uprisings. That's not to say what happened after WWII isn't important , it's just that this particular route covers the very origins of those events. It's a unique memory tied to that particular area of Beijing, and also the foundation for what China is today. But since so much has changed on the ground, hardly anyone remembers that history anymore. That said, I always welcome more questions extended from what I share during the tour. After all, I truly believe the tour is a good opportunity for us to communicate, and communication should go both ways. Wish you all the best in life.
