Mein Leben in Kyoto: Ich bin Kolumbianer und lebe mit meiner japanischen Frau, ihrer Mutter, ihrer Großmutter und unserem Sohn zusammen – vier Generationen, die den Kontrast zwischen den unterschiedlichsten Kulturen der Welt erleben. ⭐️Absolute highlight! From start to finish, we were completely engaged by his genuine, insightful, and deeply personal storytelling. Rather than delivering a standard tour full of facts and dates, he shared experiences, perspectives, and observations that brought Kyoto to life in a way we would never have discovered on our own. What we appreciated most was that the tour went beyond the usual tourist checklist. Instead of moving from one crowded attraction to the next, we were given a real glimpse into everyday life in Kyoto, its history, culture, and the nuances that make the city so unique. It felt authentic, thoughtful, and refreshingly different from the typical sightseeing experience. Jozef’s knowledge is exceptional, but what makes him stand out is his ability to combine that knowledge with his own personal journey and perspective. And of course, we have to mention the natto tasting! We have done several tours during our travels in Japan, and this was by far our favorite. If you are looking for a deeper, more authentic understanding of Kyoto and want to spend time with someone who is passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging, we cannot recommend Jozef highly enough ☺️☺️☺️
This tour was a wonderful change from the usual tourist routes. Joseph took us to local areas with practically no tourists and gave us insights into authentic daily lives of the locals. He even introduced us to his grandmother in law, who treated us to the unique Japanese breakfast of fermented natto beans. The small size of the group (3) turned the tour into a friendly conversation. If you’re looking for an escape from tourists and glimpses into Japanese daily lives, this tour is for you.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ He hecho muchos tours en Japón y este ha sido, sin duda, uno de los más especiales. No lo elegí para ver los típicos lugares turísticos. Lo elegí porque quería entender un poco mejor cómo es la vida real en Japón. Y eso es exactamente lo que encontré. Joseph no te enseña simplemente Kioto. Te abre la puerta de su barrio, de su entorno y, en cierto modo, de una pequeña parte de su vida. No voy a contar demasiados detalles porque creo que parte de la magia de este tour es descubrirlo por uno mismo. Lo que sí puedo decir es que visitamos lugares a los que jamás habría llegado por mi cuenta. Templos preciosos donde prácticamente no había nadie, rincones auténticos alejados de las multitudes y espacios que tienen un significado real para las personas que viven allí. Fue una de esas experiencias que te hacen sentir menos turista y más invitado. Además, tuvimos un par de momentos muy auténticos y cercanos que difícilmente se pueden vivir sin alguien que realmente forme parte de la comunidad local. Son de esas cosas que no aparecen en las guías y que hacen que un viaje se recuerde durante años. Joseph es una persona encantadora. Cercano, amable, paciente y siempre dispuesto a responder cualquier pregunta. Se nota que el recorrido está muy bien preparado, pero al mismo tiempo se siente natural, humano y nada forzado. No quiero crear expectativas imposibles porque, como dicen los japoneses, es mejor no hacerse demasiadas expectativas. Simplemente venid y probadlo. Hay experiencias que no se pueden explicar bien con palabras porque siempre se quedan cortas. Esta es una de ellas. Muchas gracias, Joseph.
