Geboren und aufgewachsen in Edinburgh, arbeitete ich 17 Jahre lang als Reporter, Feature-Autor und Filmredakteur beim Scotsman und schrieb anschließend regelmäßig für den Guardian und die London Times. Ich habe mehrere Bücher geschrieben und herausgegeben, darunter „The Times on Cinema“ und „On Location – The Film Fan’s Guide to Britain and Ireland“. Zuletzt war ich als Reiseführer im nationalen Fernsehen in der Sendung „This Morning“ zu sehen.
