Thomas se mudó a Hiroshima hace ocho años tras enamorarse de la ciudad y de la mujer que se convertiría en su esposa. Se conocieron en un 7-Eleven, donde ella ganó una hogaza de pan en una pequeña lotería. Como no la necesitaba, se la dio, y desde ese simple momento comenzó su historia. Más tarde se casaron en una panadería de la calle principal de Hiroshima, un lugar que aún visitan juntos porque ocupa un lugar especial en sus corazones. En su tiempo libre, Thomas disfruta estudiando para obtener diferentes titulaciones. Aprobó el examen nacional de cocina japonesa y ahora se prepara para obtener la certificación de sake japonés, mientras trabaja para convertirse en guía turístico con licencia nacional. Como embajador turístico de Hiroshima, se siente honrado de compartir la compleja historia de la ciudad y el encanto del lugar que se enorgullece de llamar hogar.
I had a great time on the tour with Thomas. Walking around the city with him was easy and really enjoyable. He went beyond my expectations and has a great personality. If you want to experience Hiroshima from a local perspective, I definitely recommend him. He also took us to a delicious and affordable place to eat. He was always very kind and answered all our questions with lots of helpful information. I’m sure he can also recommend great places to visit and eat even outside Hiroshima.

This was such a unique way to sample the speciality of Hiroshima. Having tasted the version from Osaka, I now prefer the Hiroshima version more. Thomas was very knowledgeable and shared other significant historical events as well, shifting our conversation from food, culture to history. It was a perfect introduction to Hiroshima. Don’t miss out on this food tour!

This was simply the best guided tour I have ever had. Thomas was incredibly well informed, funny and could answer every question we had. In addition he gave us a run-down of the history of feudal Japan, which was as entertaining as it was informative. The food was great, but the stories he told were absolutely the highlight of the tour. He even stayed longer to answer all our questions. Such an amazing guide!
