I'm just a typical gay Irish-Ukrainian guy from Northern Ontario long established in the multicultural metropolis of Toronto – a place that the travel writer Jan Morris once characterized, not unkindly as “the second best prize in life”. I’m a two time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, a published author, historical expert and a part time Tour Guide for Toronto and Niagara itineraries. I’ve lived in Toronto’s weirdly wonderful Kensington Market for over three decades and find myself still energized by the city's incredibly diverse, surprisingly harmonious, culturally explosive, constantly changing urban environment. I love my delightful duty of interpreting our deceptively unglamorous city for visitors and newcomers alike!
Patrick was a fun and knowledgeable guy made it more fun and less scary to walk in Kenstigton. Bear in mind that the tour focuses on Kenstigton though . It would be more convenient if cards were accepted for payment.
We never got to take tour because tour guide had to cancel due to family health issues.
Se canceló el tour media hora antes, cuando ya estábamos de camino :(
Patrick did an amazing job showing us around his his vibrant neighborhood, with a wealth of information and insight, personal stories, local history and recommendations (we tried the Tacos he suggested after the tour and it was a big hit). The whole experience was more like a conversation with a friend, rather than a guided tour, and we learned a lot about life in Canada and the versatile backgrounds of it's citizens. It was one of the best walks we ever attended and I can recommend it to everyone.
Patrick is more than a Kensington Market guide. He has lived there for over 3 decades and has a great love for it. We loved Patrick’s authenticity. He took us into some local shops - a well known artist, a friend - we enjoyed the encounter. He took us into a cheese shop that gave us delicious samples. And we went into a local bakery. Patrick is knowledgeable beyond book knowledge. He knows the streets and people in Kensington Market. Thank you for the coffee and home made apple pie, Patrick, it was delicious!
