Hi!
I'm Rudy.
My father, grandfather, and even great grandfather worked in the harbors of Rotterdam. Some of my family members were shippers, others worked in shipbuilding and factories.
I grew up in the small towns around Rotterdam (near the windmills), and lived in Rotterdam, where I studied film at the Art Academy.
After that, I worked and lived in Japan for over 15 years, creating photos and videos for the Japanese travel agencies.
A few years ago, I moved back to Rotterdam. Now I can see the city through both local and foreign eyes.
Doing guided walks is a great way for me to reconnect with my roots, and have meaningful connections with people from all over the world!

Rotterdam’s street art tour was such a refreshing way to see the city—every corner felt like a gallery with a story. Rudy brought the murals to life with context, humor, and hidden details I would’ve completely missed on my own. It made me appreciate Rotterdam’s creativity on a whole new level. Highly recommend if you want to see the city beyond the usual spots! Also , the information on where to eat the best food in the city was quite helpful . It was even more interesting because of the quirky stories and history behind it . The group was small and intimate .
