Visit Catania with a British Polyglot
Hi, my name is Natalie Maria Facenna, I am a native English speaker from the United Kingdom of Italian origin and I have been living in Italy for 16 years. I became an official licensed tour guide in 2017 in the city of Palermo where I lived for 9 years and subsequently moved to Catania where I currently live. I graduated from the University of Glasgow in Hispanic Studies and I am a polyglot (Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Catalan). I also completed a Masters in Tourism Management at a University in Milan and I have studied in Spain and Brazil.
I am a cultural expert and my specialties are the Baroque era, religious tourism, esoteric and popular tradition. I can tailor-make tours to meet the demands of the tourist and make them memorable for years to come.
Read about my tour and don't hesitate to contact me for further information. Come to Catania, you won't regret it.
Very interesting and packed with information
The tour provides insight into the "why" behind what is visible. The culture, beliefs and customs behind what is obvious, dates and other facts. Natalie, being a non-sicilian born provides an insight into the society gained by years of experience and exposure. She leads small groups which allows better interaction.
Amazing tour! True to its name, “Baroque, Esoteric and Astrological Catania” is packed with fascinating and surprising insights. I would never have noticed the intricate details Natalie pointed out in the sculptures, statues, and architectural features I had walked past every day. The route includes places I wouldn’t have thought to explore on my own, adding an extra layer of discovery to the experience. I also took Natalie up on her recommendations for other tours — a testament to how engaging and knowledgeable she is. Highly recommended!
Natalie is a really good guide: she comes well prepared and gives lots of information. Definitely worth recommending!
Natalie went beyond our expectations. She had a wealth of information at her fingertips and she was ready to impart her extensive knowledge about the complexity of Catania’s past and present to us. What luck that she was our guide!
