My friend and I loved our market and cooking class tour with Angel, our awesome local guide! He checked to make sure we were aware of the additional costs for buying the ingredients the day before so there were no hidden surprises the day of. He took us to Mercado San Pedro first and then another more local produce market to buy our ingredients. He was very patient with us when we wanted to buy a few additional personal items to try and explained a lot about all the different produce we saw while walking around. We got to try a few different exotic tropical fruits such as granadilla, soursop, and orange tomato. He also recommended a friend who was a jewelry maker, and my friend ended up buying a nice pair of silver earrings from him during the tour. Our cooking lesson took place in a shared kitchen space near San Blas Market. Angel taught us how to make 'ceviche classico' with all of our fresh ingredients. We learned to prepare the fish (Andean trout), lime zest, leche de tigre, sweet potatoes, seaweed and layer everything together. It was absolutely delicious and the best ceviche we ever had! Finally, we finished the tour with a lesson in how to make a Pisco Sour. La nostra guida ci ha dedicato tanto tempo nello spiegarci la storia Cusco e di alcuni monumenti principali e dei mercati. Poi abbiamo preparato insieme a lui il migliore ceviche mai mangiato prima ed il miglior pisco sour mai bevuto in Perù. Consiglio vivamente di fare questo fantastico tour.

Fernando was enthusiastic and engaging in sharing his knowledge of Cusco history, music, art, language and textile. The itinerary included a glimpse inside Inka Museum and Belmond Hotel. Food tasting was delicious, particularly the stop at the organic restaurant, Soq’a Gallery. A worthwhile tour.

Fernando was very welcoming and friendly from the outset, with great communication throughout the tour. He was a local guide, and spoke very good English. His knowledge was excellent and he went above and beyond to make our experience the best it could be. We had been exploring Cusco for the last few days, but the tour Fernando took us on opened up our experiences, to places only a local would know. The tastings on route were all excellent and an opportunity to try local things... of the sweet, savoury and liquid kind. He also recommended some great restaurants to try. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fernando to anyone else looking to explore Cusco, and do so as early on in your trip as possible.

Fernando was exceptional! He was very knowledgeable, funny, engaging and professional. My sister and I has so much fun learning and exploring beautiful Cusco with Fernando. This is a wonderful tour and I highly recommend. Really enjoyed the tastings and interaction with local vendors who were so warm and welcoming and generous in sharing their stories, traditions and history. This was a beautiful experience!

Fernando was an absolute local walking us through the alleys, shops, getting us to experience bits of Cusco via all his friends in the city. Enjoyed learning about the history of the place, the physical remnants, and interesting stories. Highly recommend.

I LOVED this tour! I have genuinely never had a better walking tour experience. Fernando has been extremely knowledgeable about the historical context, spirituality, and the Peruvian cuisine. We visited multiple restaurants, bars, the market to try out local dishes, pisco, and fruit endemic to Peru. I’ve also been shown how to make Ceviche and he was kind enough to give me recommendations for my upcoming trip to Lima. Highly recommend for the experience and the lovely local people you can meet along the way!! Thank you again, Fernando for your kindness and the wonderful experience.

Fernando carried on even though I was the only guest and he wasn’t feeling well (which I never would have guessed, from his energy and enthusiasm). So much interesting information, delicious tastings, fascinating history. Will return to a few of the restaurants and will return to the main square to visit the Inca museum and at least one church, b/c of Fernando!

The tour with Fernando was amazing! I got a private tour because of some late cancelations. Because I’m an artist, he took me to some very cool galleries and artistic parts of the city that I would have missed. He had a lot of interesting facts and history to share. I felt like I had a better understanding of the city, history, and gastronomy of Cusco. A fabulous day that I highly recommend.

Fernando was super knowledgeable and showed us good spots around the city! We even got to eat a sandwich, try a bunch of different chocolate, and try a passion fruit pisco sour!

Thank you Fernando for truly excellent tour. The route was great with a variation that meant there was also something new. The depth of your knowledge was outstanding. But most of all the product samples and brief entrances to various sites really brought Cusco to life. I have already recommended your tour to others.

Do not hesitate to take this tour with Fernando. I’ve taken many guided tours (through Guru and other providers) and this was by far one of the best tours I’ve ever taken. His knowledge of the history of the city (and all of Peru) combined with his interest in providing a truly local experience makes this a unique and VERY worthwhile tour. I can’t say enough about how remarkable this experience was. RUN, don’t walk, to book it!

Our tour with Fernando was great. He knows a lot about Cusco, the history, the culture, the food and the places - and he is very passionate about giving a good experience. We had a lot of great tastings on the tour and Fernando was very helpful with a lot of good recommendations. Would definitely recommend.

I have done a lot of free walking tours but this one was clearly the best I ever had!! Fernando is amazing : passionate about his city and super nice!! We had a very good time and discover very good places where we tried for free : foods and drinks ! We highly recommend you to do this tour we Fernando : you won’t be disappointed!!
