Free Tour of Antwerp
Description
Hello!!
Did you know there is a city in Belgium that will make your eyes sparkle?
That's right, the city of diamonds, where approximately 80% of the world's rough diamonds circulate, is waiting for you. You will have at your disposal a neighborhood full of these precious stones, waiting for their lucky buyer.
Antwerp, the city that longs to be the Belgian capital, where one of the most important ports in Europe is located and which often takes a backseat to its neighbors Bruges and Ghent. But Antwerp has more to offer than we imagine.
Join us on our tour of the city, where we will show you the most relevant aspects of Antwerp, and you surely won't regret it.
We will start a few steps from the opera, near the train station, which according to some magazines, is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Next, we will enter the country's most important shopping street, and among shops for all tastes and budgets, we will reach the house museum of the famous Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens. We will tell you about the relationship and importance the painter had with the city. We will visit the Meir Palace, once owned by Napoleon, later home to the Belgian monarchy, and now houses a renowned and exclusive Belgian chocolate shop, "The Chocolate Line".
Our tour will continue with a journey back in time, as we leave the commercial and modern area to enter the old town of the city. This beautiful old town will dazzle us with everything we will appreciate and learn. And as it could not be otherwise, in a city where its economy and importance depend largely on water, we will end our tour on the banks of the River Scheldt, next to Steen Castle. It is no coincidence that the inhabitants of this city say:
"that the river owes its existence to God and Antwerp owes its existence to the river".
