Walking Tour of Antigua Guatemala
Hello friends of the world! My name is Alfredo Barrera, I have been a tour guide for 7 years, due to the pandemic, my work has been affected. I invite you to join us and discover the city with me. I ask that you be respectful and appreciate my work, only you pay for my services.
Tour description
This tour takes you to visit La Antigua Guatemala, this colonial jewel was the capital city of the Spanish kingdom which at the time extended from Chiapas Mexico to Costa Rica. The city was built at the foot of the majestic Agua Volcano and was abandoned after massive earthquakes in 1776. Years later the city was inhabited again and today you can still enjoy the colonial charm of a protected city frozen in time, with vestiges of the earthquakes that nearly destroyed it and the innovation that has made many of these ruins into some of the most amazing hotels, restaurants and parks in the world. Your guide will provide you with information about the country, its people, history and customs in Antigua.
Once you meet your tour guide in Parque Central there you will enjoy a walking tour of the city that will visit:
- Central Park
- Palace of the General Captains
- Santiago's cathedral
- Arch of Santa Catarina
- Our Lady of Mercy Church
- Facade of Santa Teresa de Jesus
- Facade Church of Carmen
- Jade Factory (Optional)
