We made the tour with Alfredo father. It's was very interesting. I would just expected some recommandations of no tourist attraction or local restaurant. Also he said what we have to pay in the begging and isn't very confortable. But all of the visit was very clair and professional
Fue el padre de Alfredo quien nos guió en Español . Alfredo guió la parte del grupo en Inglés . Fue muy informativo y ameno . Visitamos lugares interesantes. No todos, ya que Antigua es vasta en lugares interesantes que visitar . Al comienzo del recorrido fuimos informados del monto que esperaba ser pagado por el tour y como muchas cosas en Guatemala, las expectativas se alineaban a valores que se manejan en Europa .
Apparently Alfredo who normally runs the tour was not feeling well and his father Alfredo ran our tour. This Alfredo was nice and knowledgeable but his English was poor and it was hard to follow him. He did not understand some questions we were asking. We had non-native English speakers who had a very hard time understanding him. This would not have been such an issue if he did not harp on the “expected” 100Q gratuity amount, as other reviews have mentioned. It did not feel like a “free” walking tour based on service. I have taken countless walking tours in other countries and this was the first where I felt pressured to give a certain amount, especially considering the quality of the tour.
Alfredo was great and 90 mins was the perfect amount of time. Great info! Thanks Alfrdo
