Tour description

The best and safest way to explore Maputo as a visitor is with a guided tour on foot. This visit will take you to the historic downtown, and introduce you to the city from the times of the first inhabitants to the present days. The tour starts at the cathedral, and next, we go to:

The city hall
Independence Square
Mozambican french cultural center
The iron house
The botanical gardens
The central market
The old mosque
The train station
Workers square
Bagamoyo street
The fortress.

Meeting place is in front of the cathedral next to Rovuma hotel, I always carry a small black bag.

Aylton was extremely knowledgable and friendly. He took us around the dowtown and although some places were closed we still had a great time seeing the sites. His english was great so we had no trouble understanding him and asking a bunch of questions. We spent around 2 hours with Aylton and could've been longer but we chose not to go to the fort since it was getting a little late. Highly recommended tour!
