Hello! 👋🏻 I'm Edu, a Huelva native in love with and a great connoisseur of Huelva and its province. Join me to visit the most emblematic places in one of the oldest cities in the West and soak up its history from the Phoenicians, through the Age of Discovery, to the arrival of the English. I am an art historian from the University of Seville, with a Master's Degree in the Guardianship of Historical-Artistic Heritage. The legacy of al-Andalus from the University of Granada and a PhD candidate in Mudejar Architecture in Huelva from the University of Seville. We look forward to seeing you!

Tour description

Discover the history of Huelva in a unique way. We'll see why so many civilizations chose this place and the traces they left, the surprises, secrets, and milestones that transformed the city, all while enjoying spectacular views. Huelva, a gem waiting to be discovered.

We'll begin this free tour of Huelva next to Casa Colón, a former luxury hotel built thanks to the great mining boom experienced by the province at the end of the 19th century. Why did so many civilizations choose this city as their home? What traces have they left behind? Let's find out!

Strolling through the city center, we'll see palatial houses that are over a hundred years old , and we'll pause to visit a former 15th-century fisherman's home. We'll then head to the Gran Teatro and Plaza de las Monjas , a favorite meeting place for Huelva residents.

In the second part of the tour, we will visit the main church of San Pedro , the oldest in the city, where we will tell you about the origins of Huelva along with the recently excavated archaeological remains of the square.

Next stops? The Mora Claros Palace and the venerated Church of the Immaculate Conception , from where we'll head off for the final part of the tour. We'll continue exploring the streets of modern Huelva on the way to the Mercado del Carmen .

Two and a half hours later, we'll conclude the tour on the estuary promenade. You'll be enchanted by the views of the Odiel Marshes Natural Park and the Rio Tinto dock.
