Free tour through the Medina of Tetouan (The White Dove).
Tetouan, the most Andalusian city in Morocco, with its Medina declared a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1997, where we can feel the ancient presence of Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Jewish colonies that have indelibly marked the city's history in its smallest details. Tetouan, an Andalusian city, managed to harmoniously integrate elements from various cultures that coexisted for centuries.

In this free tour through the Medina, we will explore its intricate streets and different neighborhoods, discovering the soul of Tetouan, its history, and curiosities.
You will get to know the Medina of Tetouan in all its essence.
What will we discover on this free tour?
- We will start at the Spanish Consulate located in Muley Mehdi Square, in front of the Church of Our Lady of Victory, to understand the origins of the city, and continue our journey through the alleys that hide the wonderful houses of the ancient Andalusians, known as the part of the old Tetouan nobility.
- We will continue our journey to delve deeper into the captivating maze of streets and alleys, exploring hidden and charming corners away from the touristy areas, focusing more on understanding how the people of Tetouan live and navigate this wonderful labyrinth of alleys and streets. We will proceed to the artisans' neighborhood (Jarazin) with a free time stop (15 minutes), then continue to the Tannery from the late 15th century where we will see the artisan work with skins and leathers, as well as their captivating bazaars and shops with artisan products. If you wish to shop, I will introduce you to local artisans and guide you on the different qualities and prices.
- From there, continuing to weave through its alleys, we will reach the famous Gold Street (Tarrafin), to cross its other gate (Bab Ruah) and arrive at the old Jewish quarter (Mellah).
- And to conclude the tour, we will return through the Spanish Expansion, with its Spanish Library, the Cervantes Institute, the Market, Church of Our Lady of Victories and other buildings and constructions, to learn about their history and curiosities of the era.
