Free tour of Turin
Tour description
Free tour through the center of Turin with all the most significant points.
We will meet at the indicated time in Piazza Carlo Felice to begin the free tour of Turin. Together we will spend two hours discovering the history of the Piedmontese capital and its main points of interest.
During the tour, we will see some of the most important places in the historic center of Turin, walking along Via Roma and Piazza San Carlo. We will also visit the Galleria Subalpina, a shopping gallery built in 1875, where Baratti and Milan opened their historic restaurant, and we will talk about chocolate and, why not, the Vermouth of Turin that had its beginnings here.
Passing through the central Piazza Castello, we will learn about the history of Turin and admire the exteriors of the Palazzo Reale, Palazzo Madama, and the Church of San Lorenzo.
Then we will head towards the Cathedral of Turin, where we will observe the beautiful white marble facade. Inside the cathedral, built in the last years of the 15th century, the famous Shroud of Turin has been kept for four centuries.
Finally, we will walk a first stretch of Via Po, concluding in the direction of the Mole Antonelliana, one of the tallest buildings in Italy. The iconic monument is named after Alessandro Antonelli, the architect who designed it.
We will conclude the visit after a two-hour tour.
