LET'S BEGIN OUR JOURNEY

Please meet your Tour Guru at Chan She Shu Yuan Ancestor Hall at 10:00 AM.

Kindly arrive 15 minutes earlier, at 9:45 AM, so we can welcome everyone and start on time.

Itineraries as follow:

 1. CHAN SHE SHU YUAN ANCESTOR HALL

We will introduce you to some fascinating Chinese traditions, customs and family values, and have a little fun learning a few simple Chinese words.

We will also explore how Chinese communities in the old days honoured and communicated with their ancestors, and why ancestral halls were so important to the early Chinese settlers of Kuala Lumpur.

 2. GUAN YIN TEMPLE

Next, we visit Guan Yin Temple, where we will introduce you to the story of Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, and explain some interesting aspects of Chinese religious traditions and temple customs.

 3. STADIUM MERDEKA

We then walk towards Stadium Merdeka, one of Malaysia's most historically significant landmarks.

Here, we will share stories about Malaysia's independence and the people and events that shaped the nation.

 4.Menara Merdeka Maybank — NEW INSIDE EXPERIENCE

Since July 2026, visitors have had a new opportunity to experience Menara Merdeka Maybank from inside the Plaza.

We will take you inside this spectacular landmark, standing at 678.9 metres, and give you the opportunity to enjoy a better view and a different perspective of Kuala Lumpur's newest icon.

 5. DISCOVER THE STORIES OF CHINATOWN

As we continue through Kuala Lumpur's Old Town and Chinatown, we will share some of the lesser-known stories and secrets behind the streets, buildings and landmarks.

You will discover how Chinatown developed, how the early communities lived and worked, and why this area became famous as one of Kuala Lumpur's food heavens.

 6. PETALING STREET & JALAN SULTAN

We then explore the vibrant Petaling Street flea market and Jalan Sultan.

Along the way, we may have opportunities to discover local street food and experience the sights, smells and flavours of Chinatown.

And if you are feeling adventurous, you may even have the chance to challenge your taste buds with the “King of Fruits” — the famous Malaysian durian.

 7. SIN SZE SI YA TEMPLE

One of the most fascinating stops is Sin Sze Si Ya Temple, traditionally associated with Yap Ah Loy, one of the most influential figures in the early development of Kuala Lumpur.

We will share the story of Yap Ah Loy, the early Chinese community and the development of Kuala Lumpur about 150 years ago, while exploring the traditions and history of this important Taoist temple.

 8. CENTRAL MARKET — PASAR SENI

Our walking tour ends at the iconic Central Market (Pasar Seni).

This is an excellent place to continue exploring Kuala Lumpur on your own, with local handicrafts, souvenirs, art, Malaysian food and traditional products available around the area.

 RAIN OR SHINE — WE WALK!

Don't worry too much about the Malaysian weather.

We normally continue the tour even when it rains, as we can make use of covered walkways, sheltered areas and temples along the route.

The only exception is when there is a thunderstorm, when we may need to cancel, pause or adjust the route for everyone's safety.

 Drinking water

 Comfortable walking shoes

Your phone/camera — there will be plenty of stories and photo opportunities!

. By monorail - stop at Maharajalela and walk about 5 minutes.
