Essential Free Tour 3 in one: San Telmo, Plaza de Mayo, and Puerto Madero. Domes, tango, museums, Woman's Bridge, docks, and more.

Discover the soul of the city, from old to new, from tango to skyscrapers. We will meet at the intersection of San Juan Avenue and Defensa Street. I will be on the corner with my yellow umbrella. From there, we will begin the tour, passing by an old immigrant tenement house, then heading to Plaza Dorrego, the center of San Telmo, where we may see a couple dancing tango in the street. Afterwards, we’ll enter the San Telmo Market where we can discover antiques and delicious food as well as imagine the life of immigrants in these vibrant hallways. Next, we´ll visit "el Viejo Almacen," the first house of tango in Buenos Aires and the most authentic tango show in the city. We´ll talk about the history and legends of tango. We will see the smallest house in Buenos Aires and reach the iconic statue of Mafalda. Afterwards, see the first pharmacy of BA.

Slowly we will say goodbye to San Telmo. On the way to Plaza de Mayo, we will discuss the contrast between the north and south of the city and the emergence of French academic-style palaces that shaped Buenos Aires as a city with a Parisian appearance. If you haven't decided which tango show to attend, I will show you the different options.

We´ll also stop in the "Block of Enlightenment," which is one of the oldest constructions in BA and a museum nowadays. (This is also a stop to use the restrooms.)
Already in Plaza de Mayo, we’ll admire the Cabildo, the Cathedral, the beautiful Banco Nación (former Teatro Colón), and of course the Casa Rosada.

The glamour of Puerto Madero awaits us. We’ll enter this vibrant and seductive neighborhood, with its famous Woman’s Bridge, its great restaurants and bars, the dock with its sailboats.

This is the ideal location to end the tour. You’ll have a great variety of bars and restaurants. I can recommend places to eat in Puerto Madero, so you can stay and enjoy the sunset and watch as the port lights up.
