Free Tour Medieval Cuenca
Tour description
We are a group of 4 official guides from Cuenca who are in love with their city. We have been together for 17 years, showing with the excitement of the first day the most hidden corners of the historic center, recalling its most curious anecdotes and reminiscing its legends.
Our hallmark is the sense of humor and trying to get travelers to participate in the tour. The more questions, the better.
All our guided tours start at the Town Hall Arches and last for two hours.
Discover a medieval historic center preserved for centuries and declared a World Heritage Site.
We will walk through the upper part of the city, exploring its intricate alleys and stopping to admire its churches, palaces, convents, and viewpoints over the deep ravines of the Huécar and Júcar rivers.
During the first hour we will fully explore the most beautiful street of the old town: the Ronda de Julián Romero.
After learning about the history of the old San José College and delighting in several spectacular viewpoints, we will reach what was the Inquisition Tribunal to be amazed by its terrible history and enjoy unforgettable views.
Then we will descend through the solitary Ronda del Júcar and we can enjoy the facades of the Cathedral and the Hanging Houses, ending by discovering the fantastic history of the San Pablo Bridge.
If you arrive late, you can join us on Calle del Clavel, where we will be explaining for the first 10 minutes, and if you arrive even later, we will meet at the Hanging Houses (but remember that the punctual ones meet under the Town Hall arches)
