Free Tour of Medieval Cuenca
Tour description
We are a group of three official tour guides from Cuenca, passionate about our city. For 17 years, we have been showing visitors the hidden corners of the historic center with the same enthusiasm as the first day, sharing its most curious anecdotes and reminiscing about its legends.
Our hallmark is a sense of humor and getting travelers involved in the tour. The more questions, the better.
All our guided tours begin at the Town Hall Arches and last for two hours.
Discover a medieval historic center preserved for centuries and declared a World Heritage Site.
We will walk through the upper part of the city, exploring its intricate alleyways and stopping to admire its churches, palaces, convents and viewpoints overlooking the deep ravines of the Huécar and Júcar rivers.
During the first hour We will explore the most beautiful street in the old town: the Ronda de Julián Romero.
After learning about the history of the old College of San José and enjoying several spectacular viewpoints , we will arrive at what was once the Tribunal of the Inquisition to be amazed by its terrible history and enjoy unforgettable views.
Afterwards we will descend along the solitary Ronda del Júcar and enjoy the facades of the Cathedral and the Hanging Houses , to finish by discovering the incredible history of the San Pablo Bridge.
If you arrive late you can join us in Plaza de Ronda, where we will be explaining for the first 10 minutes, and if you arrive later we will still meet at the Casas Colgadas (but remember that those who are punctual will meet under the arches of the Town Hall)
