Why is this tour going to be unique? Firstly, you will be guided by a born bred local tour guide whose hobby is the study of history and continual acquisition of general knowledge with lots of experience guiding countless tourists. I will briefly explain any or all periods and indelible mark like the early and late Neolithic peoples, Phoenician ‘Melqart’, Carthaginians, Greek ‘Pillars of Hercules’, Roman (Mons Calpe’ extension of ancient Carteia) Islamic invasion by the Umayyads; Almohad, Merinid and the Nazarids the last Islamic period , Christian Spanish medieval ‘Reconquista, and late Hapsburgs, war of Spanish succession Bourbon dynasty, Anglo/Dutch capture and its treaties, Early XVIII Circa British period, Late XIX century Napoleonic wars, XX AD history, industrial age,  WWI & WWII military history. Gibraltar’s English, Genoese, Spanish, Portuguese, Maltese, Irish, , Asian, Jewish and Arab cultures including Gastronomy, present day affairs, anecdotes is which makes todays Gibraltarian society a melting pot of religions, culture, a unique blend in the Mediterranean sun.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Minimum of 12 hour booking in advance nevertheless please contact in case I already have a set tour for late appointments and availability. If arriving via Border arrive with plenty of time due to possible delays, best to park in La Linea border town, cross border, Passport or EU/ID card needed and walk down Winston Churchill Ave which is a 20 min walk walk towards Landport (Bus 10/5 in Gib) and 15 min from cruise liner via north mole road and Waterport road. Mobile carrier Gibtelecom/Gibtel roaming as within EU.

Landport gate We will visit Land port with views of the old moorish, sixteenth and eighteenth walls followed by historical anecdotes, then walk down to back to Casemates via North Bastion to Market Place.
