# 🏙️ 6. Main Route Highlights
## 🏯 Imperial Palace Area
We begin around the Imperial Palace area, once part of Edo Castle, the power center of the Tokugawa shogunate.

Here, you will see historical landmarks such as Sakuradamon Gate, Nijubashi Bridge, and the Statue of Kusunoki Masashige while learning about shoguns, samurai, the Meiji Restoration, and the role of the Emperor in modern Japan.

## 🏢 Marunouchi & the McArthur Building

As we walk toward Ginza, we pass through an area that shows Tokyo’s transformation from feudal power to modern business capital.

You will learn how former daimyo residences became one of Japan’s most important financial districts, and how the Dai-Ichi Life Building became connected to General Douglas MacArthur and Japan’s postwar reconstruction.

## 🍶 Yurakucho & Ginza

Next, we move through Yurakucho and Ginza.
Yurakucho offers a glimpse of Tokyo’s after-work culture, izakayas, cinema history, and the everyday life of office workers.

Ginza, by contrast, represents elegance, luxury, department stores, architecture, and Japan’s modernization. This is where tradition, global brands, and urban design meet.

## 🎭 Kabuki-za Theatre

At Kabuki-za, we introduce Kabuki, one of Japan’s most famous traditional performing arts.
You will learn about its Edo-period origins, dramatic costumes, makeup, male actors performing female roles, and why Kabuki remains an important part of Japanese cultural identity today.

## 🛕 Tsukiji Honganji Temple

Tsukiji Honganji is one of Tokyo’s most visually surprising temples.

Unlike many traditional Japanese temples, it features strong Indian and Buddhist architectural influences, making it a perfect stop to understand how Japanese culture absorbs and adapts outside influences.

## 🍣 Tsukiji Outer Market & Namiyoke Shrine

Finally, we arrive near Tsukiji Outer Market, one of Tokyo’s most famous food areas.

You will learn how Tsukiji became central to Tokyo’s seafood culture, why the wholesale market moved to Toyosu, and why the outer market remains active today.

The tour may also include Namiyoke Shrine, a small but important spiritual site connected to the history of Tsukiji’s workers, merchants, and fishermen.
