Fort Kochi in Kerala, India, offers heritage, history, culture, attractions, and sights for every visitor.
In this free tour, we will meet at Hotel No. 18 in Fort Kochi, on KB Jacob Road. We will gather and then walk through the local streets to Fort Kochi, where we will see St. Francis Church, where Vasco da Gama was buried. This 15th-century church witnessed the passage of the Portuguese, Dutch, and British.
As we walk towards the Bastion Bungalow, which is a Dutch infrastructure built on one of the fort's bastions, we will witness a museum inside that has ancient maps, paintings, a Dutch kitchen, and offers an impressive sea view.
We will see colonial buildings built by the Dutch and British, and then we will approach the Chinese fishing nets. Observing the life of the fishermen, the fishing, the fish vendors, and the market will give us a perfect insight into the local life and lifestyle.
Walking towards the beach, you will witness commentary on the fort, the monuments, the sunset, the Dutch Cemetery, and David Hall. Crossing Princess, Rose, and Petrocelli streets , we will head to the Santa Cruz Basilica and the local market.
