Our Journey Highlights
The Local Train Ride: We meet at Chiang Mai Railway Station and take a scenic, 25-minute local train ride to Lamphun. A truly authentic experience!
Cycling the Ancient City: Upon arrival, we’ll rent bicycles and start our exploration at a relaxed pace.
Wat Chamdhewi: Marvel at the unique step-pyramid pagoda, one of the oldest standing structures in the region.
Queen Chamdhewi Monument: Pay our respects and learn the legendary story of the first Queen of Hariphunchai.
Wat Phra That Hariphunchai: Discover the golden stupa of Lamphun’s most important and breathtaking temple.
Wat San Pa Yang Luang: Be amazed by the stunning Lanna craftsmanship and intricate carvings of this beautifully detailed temple.
Textile & Silk Center: Discover the traditional local art of silk weaving, silkworm rearing, and tie-dye.
Wat Phra Yuen: Admire the beautiful standing Buddha statues in a serene, ancient temple setting.
Ku Chang Ku Ma: Visit the sacred historical shrine dedicated to the Queen's legendary war elephant and horse.
The Return: We’ll return our bikes and head back to Lamphun Railway Station to catch the train back to Chiang Mai, full of amazing memories.
Important Information (Extra Costs):
Since this is a free walking/cycling tour based on tips, please note that you will need to cover your own small local
expenses:
Train tickets: ~5 THB per person (one way). (Train CNX - Lamphun 09:35-10:01) / (Lamphun 14:22-14.45)
Bicycle rental: 100 THB per bike (for the whole day).
Temple entrance fee: 50 THB per person (for Wat Phra That Hariphunchai).
Mulberry leaf water: 39 THB per person.
Please bring cash (small notes) for these expenses, plus extra for any snacks or drinks you might want along the way!
Practical Information
Meeting Point: Chiang Mai Train Station — (I will send you signage)
Ending Point: Lamphun Train Station — (You return to Chiang Mai by train 5 baht)
Duration: Approx. 3.30-4.00 hours of storytelling & exploration
Available Days: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes , a smile , a bottle of water , and your appetite!
Excluded: Food , drinks , Bicycle, Train and entrance fees (if applicable at temples).
IMPORTANT NOTE: Temple Dress Code
To visit temples and shrines, please observe the following:
Cover your shoulders, knees, and midriff ( No shorts or sleeveless shirts!)
Remove shoes and hats inside the buildings
Ensure proper undergarments
(Temple guards in Lamphun are very strict about this! )
