We’ll begin at the Oradea Fortress, a landmark steeped in centuries of history. Then we’ll make our way to the vibrant Union Square, known for its stunning mix of architectural styles, crowned by the Art-Noveau materpiece - Black Eagle Palace. Crossing the scenic St. Ladislau Bridge through the charming Ferdinand Square, where we can admire the stunning State Theater building , then we’ll stroll down the elegant Republicii Pedestrian Street, a lively stretch filled with cafés, boutiques, and architectural gems such as Moskovists-Miksa, Stern and Apollo Palaces.

We’ll end the tour at the magnificent Roman Catholic Cathedral and the nearby Baroque Palace, set in a peaceful garden that’s perfect for a quiet moment or a photo or two.

I will be right at the entrance of the Catholic Church situated in the inner yard of the Oradea Fortress. I will wear a white cap. Since it is the only church in the fortress, situated in the innermost circle of the fortress, you cannot literally miss it :)

Oradea Fortress

This is where all started. The city of Oradea evolved around the Fortress, that has been build here to guard the Episcopal Church and the Bishop's Palace as early as of the XII century. The tombs of St. Ladislau I and Sigismund of Luxemburg are marked inside the Fortress. Currently, the Fortress hosts many events including a Medieval Festival in July. There are also many cafe's and restaurants inside

Orthodox Cathedral of Oradea

Built in the 90s, a few years after the Romanian Revolution to serve as a Cathedral for the romanian christian orthodox population of Oradea. It displays a Bizantyne architectural style, with north-east Romania "stefanian-raresian" unique architecural style.

Fuchsl Palace

It was the first Secession palace in Oradea, designed by architects Zoltán Bálint and Lajos Jámbor in 1902. Since then, the city has welcomed many others, each more elegant than the last. The brothers Arnold and MórFüchsl, two merchants from Bihor, famous for their wines, chose this to be their home and clear proof of their rank in society. The Füchsl Palace is unique in its winding facade and the vine symbol that decorates it. Below the windows is the family's distinctive sign: FT from "Füchsl Testvérek".
