Tour description

I would like to invite you to the most colorful neighborhood in Singapore — where charming shophouses, traditional snacks, and playful murals blend past and present.
I’m Margarita — a guide and longtime resident who still finds magic in these streets. On this 2 hour walk, we’ll explore Singapore’s first and only heritage town Katong- Joo Chiat.

We'll meet at i12Katong mall (112 East Coast Rd)
Nearest MRT station Marine Parade (exit 3)

What you can expect?

We’ll uncover how this neighbourhood grew from coconuts to culture, while admiring bright shophouses and their quirky little details.

There’ll be snacks to taste, murals to spot, and plenty of photo stops for your memories.
I’ll share my favorite places where to shop, eat, and play.

We will end with a wow moment at Koon Seng Road and if you would like, you can stay longer to relax with a drink nearby.

Free tours don't have a fixed price. At the end, each person contributes to the guide the amount they consider fair based on their satisfaction. As a guideline, Guruwalk recommends between €15 and $50 per participant.
