Tour description
Fascinating Heritage Places and People
This tour route is designed to show our visitors some of the rich heritage residences and about the people who built them. It brings you back into the past to see how a mere island became an international port of trade, politics and the hustle and bustle of a British Trading Port. For this tour, we will be walking past the places on the outside. We start at:
1. Leith Street, the Chinese Hakka Milliionaires Row. One of them is the richest man in Malaya during his lifetime
2. Next we turn into Muntri Street. We see a derelict house but used to be a shoe shop where Jimmy Choo learned his skills to be the world famous shoe maker. All along Muntri Street, guests get to see the beautifully kept old design houses of the rich people who once lived there. The Temple of The Sea Goddess, only place we will enter. Following is The Penang Goldsmith Association
3. The Seven Terraces at Stewart Lane
4. Goddess of Mercy Temple
5. St George's Church
6. Town Hall/City Hall/War Cenotaph/Esplanade Sea Wall/Fort Cornwallis, the landing of the British
7. Beach Street banking area
