History, culture, and beach in a walk with a local soul
A Walk with Local Soul
Experience a unique journey that will take you from the historical heart of the city to the beaches of the Uruguayan capital.
We begin at Plaza Matriz, in the Old City, to unveil the origins of Montevideo and the stories that its walls held during the colonial era.
We will walk along Sarandí Pedestrian Street, where history and modernity intertwine and today begins to make sense.
At Independence Square, we will talk about the New City and the transition from a fortified Montevideo to the metropolis of today.
But we don't end there!! In true local style, we will take a bus (public bus)* to reach the famous Rambla in the Pocitos neighborhood, where one of the city's most famous white sand beaches is located.
Pocitos is one of the most modern neighborhoods in Montevideo, with a spectacular promenade that follows the silhouette of the Río de la Plata and where the beach of the same name is found. There you can enjoy spectacular views, take incredible photos, and, if you wish, stay to enjoy the beach and take a dip.
More than a tour, an immersion in Montevidean life!
*The tour does not include the cost of the round-trip bus ticket to the beach USD 3.10 total
