☺️✨️ Welcome to the "City of a Hundred Steeples"! Poitiers is far more than just a stopover; it is a living history book where every cobblestone tells a story spanning over 2,000 years !
I invite you on a vibrant journey into the beating heart of the former capital of the Counts of Poitou and Dukes of Aquitaine. From the majesty of Romanesque art to the elegance of the modern era, we will travel through the centuries together.
I’ve lived in Poitiers my whole life, and I now know every nook and cranny of the city !
What we will explore:
We will weave through the historic center to admire the crown jewels of Poitiers:
- Notre-Dame-la-Grande Church: Prepare to be mesmerized by its sculpted facade—a true 12th-century "stone comic book."
- The Palace of the Counts of Poitou: Walk in the footsteps of Eleanor of Aquitaine inside the prestigious "Salle des Pas Perdus," one of the largest medieval civil architectural halls in Europe.
- Saint-Pierre Cathedral: A Gothic Plantagenet giant housing some of the oldest stained-glass windows in France.
- Saint-Jean Baptistery: One of the oldest Christian monuments in the West, dating back to the 4th century!
- Charming Medieval Streets: We will wander through Grand'Rue, Rue de la Chaîne, and Rue des Vieilles Boucheries to discover half-timbered houses and hidden private.
And of course, I'll tell you a lot of juicy Anecdotes (about Jeanne d'Arc, The "Grand'Goule"...) 😉

I will be waiting for you on the steps of the Town Hall (Hôtel de Ville) on Place Leclerc. To recognize me easily, I'll be wearing a light gray suit jacket and carrying a black umbrella decorated with the Poitou coat of arms.
