From the Tower of London to Bank: The Hidden City That Rebuilt Itself

From the Tower of London to Bank: The Hidden City That Rebuilt Itself
The City of London is full of big names: the Tower of London, the The Monument to the Great Fire of London, Bank of England.
But just seconds away from them, the city changes completely.
On this walk, we’ll start at the Tower and slip into a network of quiet lanes, hidden alleys, and overlooked corners that most people pass without noticing.
These streets may feel calm now, but they’ve witnessed some of the most dramatic moments in London’s history from destruction during the Blitz at St Dunstan-in-the-East, to the rebuilding of the city after the Great Fire, to the rise of the coffee houses that helped shape modern finance.
I won’t give everything away part of this walk is about letting these places reveal themselves. But as we move through them, you’ll start to see how these smaller, quieter spaces connect to the bigger story of London.
We’ll finish at Bank, in the heart of the financial district and by that point, the City should feel very different to how it did at the start.
This is a walk about contrast:
calm and chaos, past and present, the obvious and the overlooked and those moments where London quietly reveals itself.
