Description
Discover Oaxaca City – a UNESCO World Heritage site – through the eyes of a local Oaxaqueño, certified tour guide and an artist. The tour is based on visiting and learning about markets, historic sites and art centers such as:
- Subterráneos – An underground print gallery where art means civil resistance and local culture
- La Merced Market — 50+ years of tradition: moles, tlayudas, bread, mezcal; decorations; traditional clothing and murals
- Centro Cultural San Pablo — A former church and now a place for music, academic activitiesand art where three eras of Oaxacan history blend together.
- Macedonio Alcalá Theater — Former casino & Oaxaca's most iconic theater due to its history and imperial architecture
- Zocalo and the Cathedral — The beating heart of Oaxaca
- Manuel Álvarez Bravo Photograpy Center – A colonial mansion hosting stunning photography exhibitions
- Santo Domingo Church & Botanic Gardens – The jewel of the crown. Gold and art reflecting the power of the Church in colonial times
**Bonus:** I'll share personal food and restaurant recommendations and we can try Tejate —a prehispanic cacao and corn drink, plus a surprise at the end of the tour.
