Walking Tour Through Nature and Vineyards
The tour lasts 4 hours
Available in English and Croatian
Description
Croatia is famous for its sea, but do you want to see a place away from the tourist noise and experience something original? Do you want to experience tradition, a location without tourists, nature and vineyards? Then this is the right tour for you. The tour includes:
- Walking through the vineyards in the village (the village is called Novigrad Podravski) - about 3-4 hours. Please note: The walking tour is only inside Novigrad Podravski village and is about 6–7 km long. The actual tour is shorter than the route shown on the map (from the meeting point to the village).
- Tasting local wine. Wine tasting is an additional fee paid to local producers. The price is 10 euros.
- If you have more time we can visit:
- Visit to the nearby town of Đurđevac where you will see the fortress and learn how the Croats defeated the powerful Turkish army with the help of a single chicken (actually it is a rooster, but for our story a chicken will also be fine).
- Visit to Hlebine - a village that is the center of naive art in the world (visit to local artists or a museum).
- Visit to the Drava River, which is located nearby.
- Visiting hidden locations and if you have the desire and time to visit locals who produce alcohol (great for souvenirs) or enthusiasts who are engaged in painting or collecting ancient antiques.
We will meet at the train station in Koprivnica. From there we will head towards (with public transport) the village of Novigrad Podravski. The price of public transport is around 3-4 euros.
Guide: Ivan
Guiding since 2024Hi, I'm Ivan, a traveler and local guide from Podravina, one of Croatia's most authentic and least discovered regions.
After visiting many countries and joining walking tours around the world, I realized that visitors rarely get the chance to experience the real Croatian countryside. That's why I created this tour.
I'll take you beyond the typical tourist routes and introduce you to local vineyards, traditional stories, naive art, hidden landscapes, and people who still preserve the way of life of this region.
If you're looking for an authentic Croatian experience rather than crowded tourist attractions, I'd be happy to show you my home region.
