Scotland is not the biggest, it’s not the cheapest some even say it’s not the best?
But it’s still probably one of the things Scotland is most known for.
The reasons are complex and really sometimes just down to a bit of luck.
There’s also Scotland and Glasgow’s relationship with alcohol which has not always been a happy one.
Until relatively recently women were not allowed in pubs and this led to some curious arrangements in some of the older bars.
Today Glasgow is best known and renowned throughout the world for its nightlife, pub life and welcoming atmosphere in the Glasgow pub.
Enjoy the Glasgow “patter” a language all of its own with genuine Glaswegian.
The Scottish single malt whisky is a real experience and should not be missed. To hear its history in an ancient Glasgow pub is a real experience.
During our short stroll to one of Glasgow’s oldest pubs we’ll chat about this.

Please note the whisky sample is not free. We suggest at least two tasting samples at £20. Beer and soft drinks are also an option.
The guide will accept card and these charges do not include any tip or payment for the guide which on average is 10-15£.

We’re made up of actors, teachers, and myself Gordon. I've had a long career as an engineer, military service, police officer, businessman, and judge, so I have quite a few stories. Since retiring about seven years ago, I trained as an actor and turned to tour guiding about five years ago. Everyone of us has a slightly different angle to the same story and it’s difficult to say who’s the best and who you’ll get on the day. All we can almost guarantee is that we’ll tour every day not just summer time. However all of us are trained and our ratings tell we maintain a very high standard.
