About the Tour
“Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it.” - Oprah Winfrey
This running tour invites you to feel the pulse of daily life in Berlin across the ages. There is no better way to run through the city's rich history. Over a 5K route, you will journey through Berlin's defining eras, from its humble origins and imperial Prussian rise, through the turbulence of two World Wars and the Cold War division, directly into the vibrant democracy of today.
How it works?
We will start with a short warmup together. After the warmup, we will start running along the route. We will stop at every sight to tell the story of the place. The pace of the run will depend upon the slowest runner. You can expect to run around 5:30 to 6:30 min per km pace. We won't be leaving anyone behind.
We will cover the following sights
Berlin TV Tower, St Maria's Church, Red Townhall, St Nikolai's Church, Knoblauchhaus, Nikolai Quarters, Berlin Palace (Humboldt Forum), ZeugHaus, Neue Wache, BabelPlatz and Humboldt University, Unter Den Linden, Brandenburger Gate, Holocaust Memorial, White Cross Memorial, German Parliament Building.
About Me
I am Ashish, originally from India, living in Berlin for more than 6 years. I fell in love with the travelling when I started experiencing the city with their stories and history. This inspired me to start my own business WalkMyCity. I have been creating digital walking tours for cities around Europe.
Guide: Ashish
Guiding since 2024Hey, I am Ashish, originally from India, But life and work brought me here to Berlin. In India travelling meant different. I mostly used to see popular sights, take photos, ate local food and called it a day.
After travelling in Europe and discovering few cities with other guides, the meaning of travelling changed for me. I realised that cities and places feel different when we know their story. It answers so many questions about why people eat what they eat, do what they do, make what they make. I found so much joy in this that I decided to start my own business WalkMyCity where I provide digital walking tours to tourists.
Come join me on a walk or run and I will show you around. My way of giving the tour is more story driven. My goal is to make you feel the history of a place because you might forget what date what was built, but you won't forget what you felt there.
