Free walking tour of Baeza at night. Discover the illuminated city.

The tour lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes
Available in Spanish

Description

We will begin our tour at the Arco de las Escuelas (Arch of the Schools), the gateway to the monumental heart of Baeza. From there, we will stop at the entrance to the Old University, where we will remember Antonio Machado and discover what academic life was like at one of the most prestigious universities of Renaissance Andalusia.

We will continue through the Plaza de Santa Cruz, where we will see the only Romanesque church that is preserved in the city, before admiring the spectacular facade of the Jabalquinto Palace, one of the great jewels of Spanish Isabelline Gothic.

Afterwards we will arrive at the Plaza de Santa María, presided over by the majestic Baeza Cathedral, the setting for some of the most important events in the history of the city.

One of the highlights of this tour will be exploring the narrow streets behind the cathedral, a corner that will captivate you as night falls, acquiring a unique atmosphere. Within its stone walls, we'll discover stories, legends, and curiosities that reveal the most intimate and evocative side of Baeza.

Our next stop will be the San Felipe Neri Conciliar Seminary, closely linked to the religious and cultural history of the city, where we will talk about the red letters all over the facade.

We will finish at the emblematic Fountain of the Lions, where we will learn about the origin of this unique monument and conclude the visit by contemplating one of the most beautiful corners of the illuminated historic center.
